Dear Sirs,

Our company was established in the 1920's with the Atritor Dryer- Pulveriser for producing pf ( pulverised fuel) for firing cement kilns, lime kilns, boilers, furnaces etc. Today we sell into all industries but coal remains a popular application especially in recent times with oil prices and reliability of supply.

Concerning your application, to size the mill and offer a quotation I need more information:

1. Is the feed coal wet and therefore do you need drying in addition to milling.

2. What is the HGI ( hardgrove Index) of the coal as this will have a major impact on capacity and hence size and cost of mill.

3. A standard pf is 90% minus 90 microns, you ask for 50 -70 microns. Is this figure correct, it is very fine, what is the application. Producing a very fine pf will reduce the mill capacity and hence you will need a much bigger, more costly mill.

Do you have a size distribution of the product required. Where is the coal from, do you have a coal analysis?

4. Plant layout - We offer both direct and indirect firing systems, information can be found on our website www.atritor.com Select 'Atritor' and at the end of the section you can view and download our p.f. brochure.

To control the feed to the mill we have a table feeder. We also often include metal detectors as if metal entered the mill the internals will disintigrate in less than one revolution of the rotor and result in an expensive repair bill.

5. We market all equipment from our factory in England. We have representaitives or associates around the world. We have supplied our mills to China through consultants and sister companies in the uk but have no formal representative in China.

If you can provide further information We will be pleased to offer a quotation.

Regards

Veitch McQueen

Coal Grinding

Posted on 10. Feb. 2009 - 02:11

Dear Bentzen,

your request sounds quite interested. Basically grinding of coal won`t be a problem, if you consider the content of abrasives and the dust explosibility. A very important information is the kind of coal: black coal or brown coal?

You have asked for producers in China and Atex certification! How should this work, because Atex is a European guideline. I guess it will be easier to look for an European manufacturer which has an office in China. If you are interested in machines from Hosokawa Alpine e.g., you can send an email to our Hosokawa office in Shanghai: shanghai@hosokawa.com.cn We will follow up your request immediatelly. It would be a pleasure for us to start a project with you.

Kind regards,

Michael

Dear Bentzen

We can offer you the most cost effective solution for your coal grinding application. I would recommend a refurbished Raymond Bowl mill (the most preferred and utilized mill for coal pulverization) retofitted with a MicroSizer RMC air classifier (for finer grind applications and maximum mill output) and a PI automated feed system. Please answer the following questions so I can properly size and quote your system:

1) moisture level of coal. Does system need airheater?

2) HGI (hardgrove index) of coal

3) exact particle size of finished product. eg 99% minus 200 mesh

4) Does system need to be capable of inerting CO2

5) Do you prefer permanent or portable installation

I look foward to hearing from you.

All the Best,

Chris

Lf Pumping - Ultimate Coal Dryer

Posted on 12. Feb. 2009 - 10:14

We could crush and dry the coal, which would increase its calorific value. The LamiFlo Coal drying system from LF Pumping, is one the most cost effective drying & crushing system for coal, and a vast array of other materials. Most traditional methods of drying require natural resources to generate heat, the LamiFlo system uses air, which offers masssive operating cost savings, and reduction of carbon footprint.

Nea Coal Mill

Dear Bentzen,

our pendulum roller mill was invented for grinding of coal and should be used in your case.

Since the requested capacity is very low one of our small mills would be a perfect fit to your demand.

Of course we deliver according to ATEX and control and instruments can be adapted to your requirements as specified.

Since we have best experience with filter configuration we do recommend to use it instead of cyclone configuration.

If you are interested in a detailed quotation please send your contact data to below email address.

With kind regards
