Innovative Technology at Achema 2003

Retsch is proud to present its new Ultra Centrifugal and Planetary Mills for reducing the size of soft, medium-hard, hard, brittle and fibrous materials.

Innovative drive techniques and unbeatable handling are combined in the new design of the Ultra Centrifugal Mill ZM. This completely new development is used for fine size reduction of products such as chemicals, plastics, animal feed and coating powders down to a fineness of approx. 40 µm.

The further increased performance of the motor with its controlled speed in the range from 6000 to 18.000 min-1 ensures uniform and even quicker grinding. The time-proven patented cassette principle guarantees a high sample throughput and convenient sample removal. Many plastics can now be ground without prior embrittlement. A new cyclone with an adapter for standard glasses ensures increased cooling during the grinding process and simple sample removal.

Two revolutionary planetary ball mills are also being presented for the first time. These mills, with one or two grinding places, convince with their top-quality grinding results combined with the highest degree of operating comfort; they are universal benchtop instruments used for grinding samples such as minerals, soils and chemicals down to a fineness of approx. 0.5 µm. The performance of these instruments sets new standards for laboratory mills!

The controlled speed can be matched to the sample and therefore guarantees optimal and reproducible grinding results. The construction of the mills offers maximum energy transfer, so even the most difficult materials can be ground. Up to 9 combinations of parameters can be stored and called up for continually repeated grinding processes.

All new Retsch mills are characterized by their high degree of operating comfort. A graphics display and the ergonomic one-button operation simplify handling and open up new possibilities.
