December 30, 2008

Tata Steel, the 6th largest steel producer in the world is setting up a 6 million tonnes per year Iron ore pellet plant at their existing plant complex in Jamshedpur, India. FLSmidth Minerals has signed contracts worth approximately USD 48m (DKK 250m) with Tata Steel for the supply of a drying and grinding plant for the pelletizing plant.

The scope of work involves basic design by FLSmidth Minerals, USA and Denmark, and among other things detailed engineering and design, manufacturing, supply and supervision of two Rotary Dryers, 2 Ball mills with 2x6000 Kw drive, 2 separators from FLSmidth Minerals, India and 4 bag houses from FLSmidth Airtech.

"FLSmidth continues to receive large orders and this plant is one of the largest dry iron ore grinding systems being supplied by FLSmidth. The order includes technology and products from various FLSmidth group companies, reinforcing FLSmidth Minerals approach of being "One Source One Partner" to its clients," Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.

The contract will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until 2010.
