Proven performance ensures repeat orders for MacGREGOR cement-handling systems

Through a proven track-record of efficiency and reliability, MacGREGOR Bulk Handling division’s Nordströms cement-handling systems have now been specified for a further two Japanese owners

The MacGREGOR Group’s Bulk Handling division can now confirm that it has won contracts to supply Nordströms cargo-handling systems to two Japanese clients: Taiheiyo Engineering Corp and Kanematsu Corp.

Both customers require the Nordströms systems to handle cement. Taiheiyo Engineering has ordered the system for installation on a 14,500 dwt cement carrier being built at a shipyard in Japan, and the Kanematsu system will be fitted to a 15,000 dwt vessel under construction in Vietnam. Each of these two systems has a mechanical loading capacity of 1,100 tph and a pneumatic unloading capacity of 2 x 500 tph.

Patrik Wiln, product and sales manager for the Bulk Handling division’s selfunloading systems, says that: “The advantages with our system for this particular material are high handling capacities and excellent reliability, both of which are proven from many projects with Taiheiyo. The systems also have very low power and maintenance requirements.

“Taiheiyo has many ships with Nordströms cement-handling systems and is very satisfied with performance and quality. The successful long-term cooperation between MacGREGOR’s Bulk Handling division and our Japanese clients is a crucial part of our continuous development of the cement handling technology.”

The systems will be delivered from MacGREGOR during the winter/spring 2008/2009 and the vessels will enter during 2009/2010.
