PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE ANGLE OF INCLINATION OF CONVEYOR AT FEEDING ZONE.

CONVEYOR DETAILS

PULLEY C/C - 30 m

INCLINATION - 16 Deg.

BELT WIDTH - 650 mm

BELT SPEED - 1.0 m/s

MATERIAL - LIME STONE

DENSITY - 1.4 t/m3

CAN WE FEED THE MATERIAL DIRECTLY AT 16 DEG. INCLINATION.

PLEASE GUIDE.

You have not given lump sizes nor have you suggested a conveyor type. Cleated belts work for batching plants and quarries if you can run dirty. Again, you have not provided the moisture situation.

I have seen secondary crushed limestone fed onto 19o and it was quite an experience at start up. If you can clean up later and provided nobody stands around it can be done. The same site at Stevin Rock, Ras al Khaimah, also had to accept primary crushed rock at 19o and that was really spectacular at start up but again the stuff did setlle along the belt. So it can be done if you have no H & S around, a submissive workforce and long production runs. This plant had been laid out by the surveyor and detailed by a Turkish manufacturer. It was a real eye opener.

If the 16 degrees conveying angle works without slide back or roll back then theoretically you should be able to load onto that angle if you design the transfer to load the bulk onto the conveyor in the direction and at the speed of the inclined conveyor. Practically the lower the loading angle the better.

Vinay,

Your 120mm will roll off quite soon during start up. Some of the 60mm might reach past midway before coming over the edge. Once the flow has established it will be safe. You need a slot outlet, pretty long, and full length skirts would not go amiss. You've only got 30m of conveyor. Make the skirts high, give them a lid and you'll get away with it.
