Metal Detector & Metal Extractor Application in Conveyor Belts carrying Iron Ore

Hello Experts

I would need this forum's advise on the systems available for metal detection & extraction for conveyor belts carrying Iron Ore (67% Fe content), Limestone & Anthracite.

We have both steel cord and rubber conveyor belt systems travelling at a speed of 3 to 4m/sec in ambient temp of 45 deg centigrade plus.

The system should be capable of detecting & extracting metal pieces of 20 to 30kgs.

Anyone experienced in such environment or a supplier dealing with products suitable is welcome to share their experience & information.

If someone needs more info, i can share.

Are you talking about metal detector and Magnetic Separator.

If so both these are available in India.

Metal detector only detect the metal and energies the magnet,which can attract the same. These are to be removed from the lifting magnet if it is ferrous.

If the metal is not magnetic,the system can spray some colored liquid and stop the conveyor for the attend to remove it.

In case of Magnetic separator, it is fitted in a transfer chute, which can remove magnetic material from the stream while discharged by the head pulley and carry and deposit at a suitable place. This system works for magnetic material only and does not need man power to remove from the system.

There are several manufacturers,

But you can get quality products from,

1.ElectroZavado -- For lifting magnets and magnetic separators.

2.Siva system----For Metal detectors.
