I worked in salt for over 30 years in evaporation plants and mining and never had any luck with pneumatic systems to move dry salt let alone wet salt. With pneumatic you need to think about what happens to the exhaust air at the discharge end.

What is the mositure content?

What type of truck is it being delivered in?

How high do you need to elevate it?

What is the TPH rate needed? I

s this a permanent installation or a temporary installation?

If permanent and high up you may want to concider a steep angled conveying system. If not too high you may be able to do it with verticle screw conveyor or the mechanical plug circuit system which has a series of discs attached to a cable to lift the product through a pipe to the discharge point and the discs go back down in the return pipe.

If moisture content is very high then you may be able to look at slurry pumps.

As Gary and I are in full agreement with this in our combined 52 years

of working in the salt industry you have a few options.

The problem is the brine adhering to the salt and its nasty habit of getting into everything.

Can you simply dump the salt and let it dry out????? it will not take very long

as long as it is spread out to evaporate.

Are you centrifuging oil sands waste water to get the salt out of it to make sweet water??????????????????????????????

Are you intent on making chlorine from washed and scalped oversize solar salt screenings????????????????????

The simplest way to do this is use the Cableveyor as Gary has mentioned

by using either schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC pipe to eliminate the corrosion issue.

and in this way you can manage the corrosion and eliminate plugging by using mechanical

pipe joints(Victaulic pipe clamps) rather than welded pipe.

The issue is simply being able to manage and remove the brine as it will simply fall away in the

pipe as it is being carried away.

Saying that if the dumping station is indoors you are going to need a dehumidifier and having someone

at the dumping station to assure the salt does not bridge over and create rat holes and stop flowing.

We need more information to help you help us help you with the issue as it is simply a design issue

that must be done right to eliminate any issues from biting ones backside later ■
