Future of Handling Fertiliser in India

I am sharing my thoughts on this forum after visiting the India's biggest upcoming fertilizer facilities in on of the ports, where facilities like unloading from the ship, conveying, storage, reclaiming, bagging, dispatch by bulk trucks, bagged in trucks, wagon loading is planned and the consultant is not from India.

After working 35 years in this India, and also technical training in Germany at- Ibau Hamburg for silo technology,Haver and Boecker in Bagging technology and Beumer in Wagon and truck about 2 decades back, planning of silo storage, bagging and dispatch facilities for more then 20 cement and fertilser plants- I strongly feel that our fertilizer Industry is 20 years back in adopting latest changes in the above facility.

Since, the land price with in the ports vicinity is at premium rate, our industry is not considering this issue at all, they want to adopt old system (25-30) years back.Consultants also do not want to offer latest technology because they are not getting handsome fee and due to that cut and paste methods are being involved . In this particular facility the operator/owner would like face following --

1.Working inside the shed all the time, facing slippery floor and fouls smell of the material.

2. Handling front end loaders inside the shed on slipery floors asking for the accidents.

3. Movement of heavy front end loaders inside the shed (for feeding the evacuation conveyor).

4. Battery of Bagging machines 34 to 40 pairs, keeping in view of loading a rake simultaneously while reclaiming of the material.

5. Semi automatic system of loading a rake which requires 200-300 manpower during rake loading.

6. Semi automatic loading of bags in the trucks without thinking of movement of trucks and also using 3-4 person on one truck during loading of truck.

7. Low capacity of Manual Bagging machines where manpower requirement is double more at each station comparing with fully automatic lines.

Now,if some one suggest them the following--

1. Bringing down the existing area by HALF?

2. No movement of front end loaders.?

3. No foul smell?.No accidents?

4. No slippery roads.?

5. High speed bagging system without using manpower?.

6. High speed wagon and truck loading system?

7. Reduction in CAPEX by 20-25%.?

8. Reduction in Manpower by 35%?

THEY WILL NOT BUY.
