Great satisfaction of both exhibitors and visitors after Pharmintech 2007 in Bologna
Successful assessment for Pharmintech 2007, the exhibition for the pharmaceutical, personal care and nutraceutical industry, upon its closing at Fiera di Bologna. A large and extremely qualified public, a high percentage of which from outside Italy, has sealed Pharmintech’s place in Europe as a unique exhibition in its specialization.
Pharmintech’s design as a high-tech event coupled with high-profile professional meetings has granted its success for both visitors (according to a survey conducted by Nets) and exhibitors. The attendance of market players during the three exhibition days has exceeded all forecasts.
"We have recorded over 4.000 visitors, 23% of whom from outside Italy – Ipack-Ima Spa CEO Guido Corbella highlights -: it is an outstanding achievement, especially when one considers the highly specialized nature of the event and its short duration. However, for exhibitions of this kind it is very limiting to consider only numerical figures – Corbella points out -. The most important factor for us organizers is the full satisfaction expressed by exhibitors, who have built up new contacts and have created more business opportunities, in return for their investment in high quality products and technology displayed at Pharmintech 2007. This shows Pharmintech’s format to be a winning one".
In particular, the high number of visitors coming from outside of Italy has been very significant, especially in such a markedly international industry as Italian pharmaceutical processing and packaging. The side events have also contributed a great deal in the success of the exhibition and have recorded high attendance. Finally, good results also came from the agreement with the organizers of the AFI Convention in Rimini, which produced an effective exchange of visitors during the events’ two common days, June 13th and 14th. ■

The excellence of pharmaceutical technologies on show at BolognaFiere with Pharmintech 2007
Pharmintech 2007, a specialized, highly technological exhibition for the pharmaceutical, personal care and nutraceutical industry, took place at BolognaFiere from Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th June. The show occupied the whole of the most prestigious hall at BolognaFiere, hall 36, covering 7,000 sqm net and accommodating 263 exhibitors, 30% of which from 13 countries outside from Italy.
Pharmintech is a show with a unique formula in the European panorama, catering for the needs of the entire pharmaceutical sector with its technological and industrial content and the presence of the most important international leaders. It is characterised by an international approach, due also to the presence of market players, trade journalists and opinion leaders from all over the world eagerly awaited in Bologna to assess and comment on the new products developed by the Italian packaging industry. This highly developed sector reaches its internationally competitive peak with pharmaceutical packaging.
Pharmintech represents the state-of-the art in terms of technologies and services for the entire industrial sector, throughout the whole manufacturing process of pharmaceutical, personal care and nutraceutical products, and as regards infrastructures, plants, logistics, packaging materials and containers, ancillary equipment.
The wide-ranging international promotion carried out by Ipack-Ima Spa, organizer of the event, will attract buyers and pharmaceutical experts to Pharmintech. As a result of the understandings reached with ICE (Italian Trade Commission) and UCIMA (Italian Association of Automatic Packing and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers), under the sector agreement signed with the Ministry for International Trade, delegations of market players are expected from Argentina, Brazil, India, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Hungary. In addition, there will be the delegation from China coordinated by the CPPA – China Pharmaceutical Packaging Association – and a particularly prestigious group of trade journalists and opinion leaders from France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, India, Russia and the United States. International trade press is also a significant presence as exhibitor: the most prestigious trade publications will have a booth, in addition to 29 publications from 12 countries which will be on display at the International Trade Press Booth.
Pharmintech 2007 is chaired by a leading figure in the Italian pharmaceutical industry, the chairman of Farmindustria Sergio Domp, is promoted by Ucima and can count on the support of the most representative industrial and professional institutions and associations in the pharmaceutical world: ISPE Italy Affiliate, ADF (Pharmaceutical Distributors’ Association), AFI (Industrial Pharmaceutical Professionals’ Association), AFTI (Ticino Pharmaceuticals Association), ANIPLA (Italian Automation Association), ASIS (Health Industry Studies Association), Farmindustria (the Italian Association of Drug Companies), GISI (Italian Instrumentation Companies Association) and PDA - Italy Chapter (Parenteral Drug Association).
Following a tradition that is particularly appreciated in the pharmaceutical sector, the show offers a programme of high level meetings. The events’ agenda includes the international convention organised by ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering) and PDA Italy Chapter scheduled for the opening day, with the participation of leading international exponents of pharmaceutical engineering, the first of a series of events developed with associations and organisations representing reference points in their respective areas of activity.
