Paul W Chase has been active in development and manufacturing of belt-conveyor scales since 1970. He has also participated in developing belt-conveyor scale regulations including National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbook 44 (NIST H44) and as an advisor to the US representative in development of Organisation Internationale de Metrologie Legale R50 (OIML R50).
Mr. Chase has participated in all phases of in-motion bulk weighing, including design, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and litigation. Several systems have been monitored for extended periods using a PC with special software to gather data from the beltweighers for off-line analysis. He has also developed procedures for use by operating personnel to assure that the beltweighers maintain their design accuracy.
Mr. Chase has extensive experience in process control as used in mineral processing facilities. He has specified instrumentation and computer systems for large processing plants and has developed several special control devices for use in thickeners, dense media separation, flotation, and solid/liquid filters.
