K-Tron Announces Move of Pneumatic Conveying Production to Swiss Facility
(Niederlenz/Switzerland, July 17, 2008)— The K-Tron Process Group announces the move of its pneumatic conveying production facilities from Stockport, UK, to Niederlenz, Switzerland, and the formation of its new European centre of excellence for vacuum pneumatic conveying systems based in Stockport, UK.
The changes are a direct result of the success of K-Tron’s pneumatic conveying business since the acquisition of Pneumatic Conveying Systems Ltd in 2001 and to the future business expansion expected from the recent purchase of Premier Pneumatics Inc, Salina, USA.
The present production facility at Stockport is no longer large enough to handle the current production demand for the product line. In addition, the imminent introduction of its Premier Pneumatics line into the European and Asian markets will put further demands on production capacity.
Moving production into the modern Niederlenz facility will allow K-Tron to manufacture these product lines under ISO procedures using its existing computerized manufacturing system. The move will further improve K-Tron’s ability to serve the rapidly increasing UK and international client base with documentation and after sales support in multiple languages. K-Tron will also be investing heavily into their extensive test lab facility in Niederlenz to provide customers with one-stop full scale material testing abilities.
K-Tron will maintain its sales, engineering and after sales presence in the Stockport area where the office will act as the European centre of excellence for the engineering of vacuum conveying and material handling systems. K-Tron have accordingly increased its number of project engineers based in Stockport to facilitate this initiative.
Integration of the two production centers while maintaining the sales and engineering expertise already in place in both Stockport and Niederlenz will bring added value to both K-Tron and their customers.
