Choosing a Charcoal Briquette Machine: Price, Capacity, Shape

Posted in: , on 29. Jun. 2023 - 05:35

Charcoal briquette machines compress the charcoal powder or coal dust into briquettes with different shapes and sizes. According to different working principles, charcoal briquetting machine can be divided into screw charcoal briquette machine, hydraulic briquette machine, piston briquette machine, and roller briquette machine.

Roller charcoal briquette machine

A roller charcoal briquette machine uses two closely rotating rollers at the same speed but in opposite directions to compress and shape charcoal powder or other carbonized biomass materials into briquettes.

Roller charcoal briquette machines are known for their high production capacity and efficiency. They are especially suitable for briquetting charcoal powder made form organic materials like wood, coconut shells, rice husks, sawdust, wood chips, tree chips, branches, shavings, bamboo chips, corn stalks, bagasse, and other agricultural waste.

Hydraulic charcoal briquette machine

A hydraulic charcoal briquette machine uses hydraulic pressure to compress charcoal powder or other biomass materials into briquettes.

The machine consists of a hydraulic system, a feeding hopper, a compression chamber, and a briquette output conveyor. The hydraulic system generates high pressure, typically through a hydraulic pump or cylinder, which is used to compress the charcoal powder or biomass materials. The pressure is applied to the material in the compression chamber, forcing it to bind together and form solid briquettes.

Hydraulic charcoal briquetting machines are popular for their high pressure and compaction capabilities, making them ideal for processing metal powders that exhibit plasticity under high pressure.

Screw charcoal briquette machine

A screw charcoal briquette machine, also known as a screw press briquette machine, utilizes a screw extrusion principle to compress charcoal powder or other biomass materials into cylindrical or hexagonal briquettes.

The machine consists of a screw feeder, a mixing chamber, a forming cylinder, and a briquette output conveyor. The raw materials are fed into the machine through the screw feeder, and as the screw rotates, the materials are forced through the mixing chamber and into the forming cylinder. The pressure generated by the screw compresses the materials, shaping them into briquettes.

When using a screw-type briquetting machine to compress coal dust and charcoal powder into charcoal briquettes, adhesives are needed due to the low plasticity of the materials. As a result, this machine is not frequently utilized for making coal or charcoal briquettes.

The screw briquette machine is best suited for compressing biomass materials such as wood chips, sawdust, straw, and agricultural waste. The cross-sectional shapes of finished products are square, round, and hexagonal.

Piston charcoal briquette machine

A piston charcoal briquette machine uses a piston-driven system to compress charcoal powder or other biomass materials into briquettes.

The piston charcoal briquette machine consists of a chamber, piston, hopper, and conveyor. The piston compresses the material inside the chamber, forming solid briquettes from charcoal powder or biomass materials.

Piston charcoal briquette machines are often manually operated and require manual feeding and control. They are not ideal for large-scale production in charcoal briquette plants.

Comparison of 4 types of charcoal briquette machines

Roller Charcoal Briquette Machine

Raw Materials: Particularly suitable for coal dust and charcoal powder derived from carbonized wood, coconut shells, rice husks, sawdust, and wood chips.

Price: The price may vary based on the machine's size, design, and features.

Capacity: The capacity can range from 1-35 tons per hour or more, depending on the machine's size. Suitable for large, medium, and small briquetting plants.

Briquette shape: Produces round, pillow-shaped, or other desired shapes of briquettes.

Hydraulic charcoal briquette machine

Raw Materials: Especially suitable for metal powder like iron powder, iron chips, aluminum powder, aluminum chips, scale, chromium powder, manganese powder, lithium powder, magnesite powder, steel slag, slag, refractory materials, etc.

Price: Relatively higher cost due to the hydraulic system and advanced features.

Capacity: High production capacity, suitable for large-scale production.

 Briquette shape: Round, pillow, etc.

Screw charcoal briquette machine

Raw Materials: Suitable for a wide range of biomass materials, such as wood chips, sawdust, rice husk, peanut shell, crop straw, etc.

Price: More affordable compared to hydraulic or piston machines.

Capacity: Medium capacity, suitable for small to medium-scale production.

Briquette shape: Triangle, round, square, rectangle, plum blossom, etc.

Piston Charcoal Briquette Machine

Raw Materials: Suitable for various biomass materials like wood residues, sawdust, straw, rice husk, and agricultural waste.

Price: Generally higher than screw machines but more affordable than hydraulic machines.

Capacity: Medium to high capacity, suitable for small and medium-scale production.

Briquette shape: Produces cylindrical-shaped briquettes with a hole in the center, commonly known as "puck" or "pillow" shape.

If your raw material is coal powder, charcoal powder, or carbonized biomass material, and your target market demands pillow-shaped, oval-shaped, or egg-shaped charcoal briquettes and coal briquettes, the roller charcoal briquette machine is the best choice for you.

Roller charcoal briquette machine price

Generally, roller charcoal briquette machines can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.

Small-scale machines (1-5t/h): Prices typically start around $1,000. These machines are suitable for individuals, small businesses, or communities with lower production needs.

Mid-range machines (5-15t/h): Prices range from $2,000 to $5,000. These machines offer higher production capacities and may have additional features such as automatic feeding or adjustable pressure settings. They are commonly used by medium-sized enterprises or organizations engaged in commercial briquette production.

Large-scale machines (15-35t/h): Prices can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more. These machines are designed for high-output production and are suitable for large factories or companies involved in the mass production of charcoal briquettes.
