What material can I use to protect surfaces against (20% concentration by weight) hydrochloric acid? Maximum operating temp is less that 50 degrees Centigrade.

Thanks.

Jess.

Hi Jessica,

The following materials are classified as unaffected by 20% Hydrochloric acid in pumping applications:

Carbon

Ceramic

Epoxy resin

Natural rubber

Nylon

Polypropylene

Polythene

Teflon

Viton

Be careful with the plastics at temperatures above 25 degrees Centigrade.

Regards,

Mike Griffiths.
