How to pick right sealing rubber in loading point?

Hello i cant decide wich type of sealing rubber to use in loading point, now we use rubber with syntchetic polymer and each motnh we have to change them becouse rubber wears very quickely . I was suegested to use Remaskirt50 or Uniskirt40 but it costs 6 times more then rubber with synthetic polymer.

So maby anyone can help me how to choose the right rubber, we load bulk feltilizers . maby there are some calculations how to choose the right one

P.s. sorry for mistakes

Dear Sir -

Yes the SBR skirt rubber is relativley cheap, but as you state it wears very quickly. You mentioned you are handling fertilizer. The softer, lower durometer rubbers will wear well & should resist the effects of the fertilizer better than standard SBR. You should note that SBR skirting is a very cheap rubber compound and is formulated to meet the bare minimums. Yes the other types are more expensive, but are compounded to perform better as well. You may also try ASGCO Red ORG skirting. You will still find it much more expensive than a standard SBR product, but many times you get what you pay for.

Greetings,

It is the basic economic question of opportunity cost-what are you willing to give to get something else in return?, the rubber you use for skirting is probably waste conveyor belt and it works.

decide how much time it takes to make a good repair and replace the skirting in hours and labor cost per month and then decide if the skirting material is worth the expense compared to your current method.

The other factor is production time lost when repairing skirting and that is part of the fertilizer factory overhead cost.

Skirt boards and skirting are the most overlooked (and most needed) items in conveying in most operations.
