There are a large number of custom rubber mixers avialable throughout the world. The better ones can design rubber compounds if you can provide them with your requirements (ASTM D-2000 specification or similar). They will need more information then a simple requirement for flame retardency.

If you can provide your general location, some mixers may be suggested.

Failing the use of a custom mixer, you may be able to purchase suitable cover and tie gum rubber compounds from an existing conveyor belt company (as long as your market and theirs do not overlap).

Fire Retardant Compounds

Goodyear's Type F+ compound is recommended for coal carrying service where plied or steelcord contructions are utilised and has fire-retardant properties conforming to SABS 971-1980.

Type SBR is a fire-retardant rubber compound that meets the requirements of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
