Belt Feeder Under Chute??

The first question that comes to mind is why? What is the purpose of a belt feeder receiving flow from a chute. What goes in must come out in similar fashion.
I have seen someone in India trying to place a belt feeder between two conveyors. I believe their argument was to regulate surge between conveyors especially during a stopping cycle. There are far better ways to accomplish this than drop the availability by 50% and increase the maintenance and risk of damage to the combination of conveyors for each belt feeder addition.
In summary, I do not see any reason to add a belt feeder to a transfer chute. Belt feeders under stockpiles, surge bins and crushers yes. ■

Hi all,
Is there any extra precautions to be taken while designing belt feeder below chutes(not below hopper)? or it is sufficient to design it as short belt conveyor?
