Limitation of steep angle conveyor

Posted in: , on 24. Jan. 2008 - 11:14

Dear All,

I want to elevate coke at the rate of 2000 t/hr at an elevation of 58 M . Speed is limited to1.2m/sec. What should be the effective belt width? Is there any limitation using steep angle conveyor of such higher capacity? Please reply.

Regards.

Dear Mr. Atanu

if the speed is limited to 1.2 the effective belt widths are higher than 2m. that to you need to go for steel cord belting incase of 58m lift. however you can be in touch with info@bevconwayors.com. we have supplied 90 deg steep angle conveyor to TATA steel.

Limitation Of Steep Angle Conveyor

Mr. Banerjee,

Your speed limitation is unreasonable for the throughput requirements and the consequential belt width.

Assuming bulk density 0.8 t/cu-m and 60 degrees conveying angle, a Dos Santos Sandwich Belt high-angle conveyor, will have a belt width of 3200 mm.

If the belt speed is double to a very modest 2.4 m/s, the required belt width will be 2400 mm.

If the belt speed is tripled to still a reasonable 3.6 m/s, the required belt width will be 2000 mm.

Belt tension developed for 58 meters of lift will be modest for the two fabric belts of the DSI Sandwich belt system.
