Bauxite ball mill grinder liners?

Posted in: , on 2. Jul. 2005 - 14:57

We have a grinder for grinding buite (gibbsite) in out alumina plant. Liners need renew and I am thinking about rubber liners. Grinder original liners are metal. Anyone has any experience using rubber liners for bauxite grinding?

Dear Steve,

I suggest you take bauxite based mid alumina lining brick into consideration, it has many advantages such as less contamication, high grinding efficiency and so on against rubber lining. Any queries, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks

General Kinematics has had success grinding bauxite and other clay like minerals using ceramic liners as well as AR steel liners. If there are any siliceous minerals in your bauxite it will prematurely wear out the rubber liner. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to discuss further with you.

How about polyetheylene? The material has some great (not the best) characteristics for wear. The price of the them I think is reasonable. a 60 degree cone with a 30 inch opening at the top is $80.00.

We use a molded HDPE for the hopper in our dust collector. We have both 30 and 60 degree conical hoppers.

I don't know if it would work, but contact me if you are interested.
