Clockwise, counterclockwise or dosn't metter?

Dear all,

For positive pressure dilute conveying, if air intlets from left side which direction should the rotor in rotary valve be?

clockwise or counterclockwise?

Why?

Shenjie,

To minimize turbulence while emptying the rotor pocket, the shaft of the rotary valve should be at right angle to the air supply line. But opinions on clock-wise or anti-clockwise rotation differ, some prefer the first, some the second, and some others say it does not make any difference. However, I prefer clockwise because this allows the rotor pockets to empty out towards the discharge side of the rotay valve, thus helping the solids to get entrained in the air stream faster.

Dear Amrit,

Thank you for your answer! Can you explain a little bit detailer?

Rotary Valve Rotation

To avoid blockage in the injector, the rotary valve shaft should be parallel to the pneumatic conveyor pipeline.

To ensure good filling of the pockets and avoid aeration, material should enter the valve via a 60 deg. sliding chute.

The valve should rotate away from the sloping side/material feed side of the chute, i.e., if the material slides in from the right, the valve should rotate anti-clockwise.
