Bearings used in Pipe Conveyor Idlers

There is a suggestion that it is better to use Ball Bearings with clearance C4 instead of the usual C3 clearance in Pipe conveyor Idlers. In my opinion this may not be correct since the clearance is very high and this might cause other issues such as early bearing breakage. Seriously I am not able to imagine the issues that might arise out of this and would like anyone to throw some light .

Thanks

I also would not go for an increased bearing clearance as I have seen the consequences of this happening. Ask a certain NSW based idler supplier who has replaced 1000's of rollers after the bearings failed from spinning on the shaft because of excessive clearance.

Well Shafted

What is the source of your misinformation?

And: whose rollers from NSW shouldn't we be considering?
