Kind Sir,

We are also working on the expansion for PT Bontang overland system of overland conveyors. CDI also did the original engineering for the present overland system.

CDI does design powered winch take-up systems and capstan-brake systems. I do not understand why you are requesting this outside of the alliance. Please email me for clarification with my address below.

I caution you on their use. There are times where these devices have merit and times when they do not. Specifically, you request a capstan-brake and winch take-up. This is a puzzle to me on why this is requested, since they serve a similar task. I see no reason for the winch take-up, it is only a liability on the 4.5 km overland.

Maybe, this is a new and different system that is not in the LOR scope?

Since the original poster posted this 2 1/2 years ago and has never been back since - I highly doubt that he will be back to see your replies.

But you never know.

Also if he hasn't fixed the problem yet he probably doesn't work there anymore. ■
