I am a European & Chartered Engineer with Bulk Handling design expertise going back to 1976. In my time I have designed, reviewed designs, consulted & site troubleshot bucket wheel machines, portal scrapers, boom stackers, drum reclaimers & presented specifications for over 200 storage systems.
My most recent experience with power station coal was for Manjung (Malaysia) when I was the consultant overseeing Koch Transportecnik for the design & build stages of the bucket wheel machines in the stockyard. Around the same time I did the same role at Ho Ping (Taiwan) where a circular stockpile was built indoors. Previously, in Indonesiia I was Consultant for the Balance of Plant & Coal Handling at Ombilin Power Station & for the design & construction of 4 Spiral bag Shiploaders in Tonasa (Sulawesi).
Designs can be prepared 2 & 3D with equal thoroughness & structurally verified. Manufacturing drawings are automatically generated by my 3D portfolio which includes SolidWorks, Catia & Inventor.

Hi Mr. Hahn,
I would like to request assistance with regards to the above mentioned machines interface to the DCS or separate PLC. This stems from the issue we have at Eskom in South Africa regarding these interfaces. What I would like to assertain is that how do you do this interface, whether Radio, fiber or hardwired. Or maybe the machines are manned at all times.
I will also like to know the minimum number of signals required for these interfaces.
