Gentlemen,

Our group is looking at bulk material handling systems for a possible project for exporting materials. The quarry materials would require a 10 mile system to the shipping port. We would also need a conveyor system to move cement about 1 mile to load on to a bulk ship. We also will need to move coal about 1 mile to our cement plant. Please advise how your company can provide us with products or services.

Thank you,

John P. Kirby

Your Conveying Needs

I do not represent these folks but you should investigate <www.pneutrans.net> they have what is called the capsule pipeline system.

The capsule pipeline system utilises existing technology that has been in use for all of the 20th century.

The company has set up a section of their web site to allow you to fill out a questionaire and they will send you a quoute for the size of system you need- also before I forget the system can be set up to deliver material in both directions solving your coal transport needs.

Again I want to restate that I do not represent or have any interest in Pnuetrans.

To look at a system in use today please investigate <[url]www.Capsu.org> and they have a link to a capsule pipeline system used in japan that transports crushed limestone from a quarry to a cement plant- the system in use replaced a rail line to transport the crushed lime stone. the company reused the existing railroad line by burying the capsule pipeline in the railroad bed. If you have the room the system can be left on the ground unburied this is described in their information package.

The minimum distance reccommended is one mile and minimum tonnage is one hundred thousand tons of material movedper year.

Dear John,

if you still require assistance just let me know. Beumer has extensive know how in long distance conveying of cement and clinker as well as other products. One of our early installations is the +4 km long Halla conveyor. It has been transporting clinker at the upper strand to the port and coal at the lower strand in the opposit direction for more than 20 years now. More recent references you may find for instance with Vicat in Ragland, US, or Vigier in Switzerland as well as a recent +4 km long conveor in Spain, which was commissioned last year.
