DOWNERS GROVE, (IL) March 24, 2008 - Flexco's new BR6 fastener and fastening system was launched at the recent ConExpo-Con/Agg show in Las Vegas. This new fastener offers a faster and easier solution to belt tensions and pulley diameters that could not be handled by the BR10. The BR6 fastener is ideal for troughed belts with 20 degree and 35 degree troughing idlers.
The BR6 fasteners can handle tensions from 330 to 400 PIW and conveyor systems with pulleys as small as 14 inches and operating tensions at 75 to 100% of tension ratings. The BR6 requires only six rivets per fastener versus the ten required by the BR10 and can be purchased in full width strips of 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches. It can also be used as a successful alternative to vulcanized applications and straight warped belting.
Installing the BR6 fasteners has now become much faster and easier with the improved Aluminum MBRT tool. Featuring a new and improved lighter weight aluminum structure and a high-strength clamp bar, the new MBRT tool offers faster and easier installation saving from 30 to 50 minutes per splice. The scalloped edge on the tool allows the BR6 fasteners to nest securely on the bottom side of the belt without the use of cumbersome clips and cam rod.
Fasteners can be applied with a variety of installation tools including hand installation and power installation with the Hitachi Power Tool.
