Bagging, palletizing and packaging technology for the Ukrainian chemical company Titan Crimea
JSC “Crimea Titan” is the biggest Eastern European titanium dioxide producer and a state-controlled public limited company, situated in Armyansk, Ukraine, and founded in 1969.
More than 4.700 staff members are busy with the manufacture of rutile titanium dioxide pigments, but also inorganic fertilizers, sulfuric acid, red iron pigments, green vitriol, sodium aluminate and aluminum sulphate.
Titanium dioxide is exported under the trade name Titan Crimea to 50 countries, mainly to Germany, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Australia, Brazil and Nigeria. This demands an accurate bagging, palletizing and load securing of the product for which the consortium of BEUMER and Haver & Boecker has awarded the contract.
Haver & Boecker company supplies a fully automatic bagging system INTEGRA (plug-and-pack system) with a bagging machine being equipped with a horizontal turbine filling system to fill titanium dioxide into paper valve bags by ensuring the most possible compression of the product as well as a nearly dust-free operation. Optionally the filling system can be operated with or without ultrasonic locking device for the valve seal of the filled bag. This valve seal guarantees a high weight accuracy as well as an optimum cleanliness of the bag up to the end user and avoids that the product will be lost on the conveyor belts and during transport.
The BEUMER company will supply the adjacent bag transport system and the palletizing robot BEUMER robotpac®. The robot type has been chosen for the palletizing process to ensure that a second bagging line for a further product can be installed at a later time without any problems. Furthermore, the BEUMER company will supply the main pallet transport system with integrated bag stack press.
This system compresses the bag stacks and thus guarantees a regular stacking pattern which is necessary for the loading into containers. The adjacent stretch film packing machine BEUMER stretch hood® S has been chosen for the packing process.
For this project the consortium of Haver & Boecker and BEUMER succeeded in convincing the customer by presenting a sophisticated system concept together with their great experience gained in the bagging, palletizing and packaging of titanium dioxide.

Haver & Boecker liefert eine vollautomatische Absackanlage INTEGRA (Plug and Pack System) mit einer Packmaschine mit Waagerecht-Turbinenfüllsystem zum Abfüllen von Titandioxyd in Papierventilsäcke bei größtmöglicher Verdichtung des Produktes sowie einem nahezu staubfreien Betrieb. Wahlweise kann die Abfüllanlage mit oder ohne Ultraschall-Verschließeinrichtung für den Ventilverschluss des gefüllten Sackes betrieben werden. Der Ventilverschluss gewährleistet eine hohe Gewichtsgenauigkeit, optimale Sack-sauberkeit bis zum Endverbraucher und verhindert Produkt-verlust auf den Förderändern und beim Transport.
Die Fa. BEUMER liefert den anschließenden Sacktransport und den Palettierroboter BEUMER robotpac®. Für die Palettierung wurde ein Roboter gewählt um später problemlos eine zweite Absacklinie für ein weiteres Produkt anschliessen zu können. Desweiteren liefert BEUMER den weiterführenden Palettentransport mit integrierter Sackstapelpresse.
Diese verdichtet die Sackstapel und gewährleistet so ein gleichmäßiges Stapelformat, das für die Containerverladung notwendig ist. Für die Verpackung wurde die anschließende Stretchfolienverpackungsmaschine BEUMER stretch hood® S gewählt.
Bei diesem Projekt überzeugte das Konsortium von HAVER & BOECKER und BEUMER mit dem ausgereiften Anlagenkonzept und der großen Erfahrung bei der Absackung, Palettierung und Verpackung von Titandioxyd.
