Unknown Piece of Equipment

Hello,

My company has come into possession of a set of parts that we're having trouble identifying.

They look like they're part of the mixing process and so I thought I would see if I could draw on the wisdom of you folks here.

The knob on the end has a series of perforations on its bottom hemisphere and one single perforation on the top, so we're wondering if it's used for adding chemicals or steam or something like that.

Thanks for reading!

The piece looks familar as the centre water outlet spray spigot of the circular hand washing tub or basin that is communally used in the 'Bath Houses' of the underground coal mines I have worked in. There was a full circular foot rail that when depressed allowed warm water to a full circular spray pattern outwardly and in a downwardly manner and many miners could wash at the same time.
