Which type of bucket to use?

Well,im new in this elevator design. My company use bucket elevators with rubber belt to transfer glass cullets.Im given a task to renew the elevator.

The problem is there is 2 types of bucket. One bucket is the normal bucket with rubber plating at the back.

The second type is a grooved bucket with grooved metal plating behind.I was told this type better because lasts longer.

The problem is someone told they should be another rubber plating behind the metal plating so that it wont hit the tail pulley. But the contractor told that the rubber platting is not needed.

The head pulley is rubberized but the tail pulley is bare metal.

So,can anybody advice on which setting to use?

Just to add:

The tail pulley is wing type pulley. So what kind of bucket suitable for this type of pulley? Thanks in advance.

I understand the glass cullet is output from glass crusher and its size is suitable for bucket elevator. Bucket elevator of centrifugal discharge type or continuous bucket type are used for glass cullet. The buckets are mounted on rubber belt. Take-up should be preferably at head pulley. The boot section will have curved plate for easy loading into bucket and to minimize the manual cleaning. The elevator speed should be in lower zone to minimize the abrasion wear of buckets. In this context, continuous type bucket elevator would be a better choice,

Regarding the bucket constructional specific features, mentioned by you, it is difficult to comment. Steel bucket with abrasion resistant lips were used for such elevators.

Prof. I G Mulani; thanks for the reply. What you say is true. The bucket which we have now is with a small groove.A metal bracket is attached to the groove to hold the belt. The problem is this metal bracket is knocking with the wing type tail pulley.

Can i just replace the metal bracket with a rubber liner.I will add a bigger washer to hold a rubber liner.
