Hot material to furnace

Hi

I´m involved on the project of substitute a system of charge of an furnace for another type of transporter with hot mineral 750°F

actualy a car transport 10000 Kg of hot mineral (750°F ) t 6 furnaces one at time

the car travels to 08. Mts/seg with 10000 Kg in 6 minutes.

the client wants a new system probably with funiculare or conveyors to do this feed

what do you think can operate here

We have been involved with dischargers removing material from reduction furnaces. Chain drag conveyors are normal for this application.

You are doing the same thing in reverse with cooler material.

Your capacity (kg/minute) is difficult to determine from your description. It is also not clear what type of furnace you are charging and what the opening size and orientation is.

you did not specify what were you handling , but le's guess you are handling sponge iron , DRI , hot briquettes or alumina calcine.

the capacity lets guess again 10 tons every 10 minutes will give us 60 tons per hr , not much.

Lets say you want 200 tons per hr depending on your specific layout , a sealed power and free system with hot seal valves will be similar to what you are doing except you might not be sealing your transport cars , this is frequent in coal direct reduction plants . now the problem is if the materiual stays stagnant in the furnace loading bin for a an hour or more it might start sintering and then you have a mess . whatever system you select send me more specific information so we can help you , in or outside the forums, your call.

again you might be transporting NIckel Brikettes with a rail system .

redesign your trains to be able to seal them , this is simple matter , and the environment will improve significantly.

allow for the displacement of the air iside the bins trough a controlled port to eliminate the dust during charging , inject nitrogen or inert gas to the bin when unloading , try to keep everything sealed during charge and discharge .

there are severall valves that can do the job in the market , select a cheap one that can work with a static collumn of solids inside , opening and closing , run away from double valve schemes .
