CB&I is currently seeking a Bulk Material Handling Engineer for our Mobile, Alabama office. The Bulk Material Handling Engineer will be responsible for conveyor design in new facilities, or upgrades or expansions of existing waterfront terminals.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
In this role, the Bulk Material Handling Engineer will perform conceptual, preliminary and final design of bulk material handling systems including ship, barge, rail and truck loading and unloading systems. These systems will be comprised of belt conveyors, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, dust control systems and various specialty equipment components. The engineer will perform analysis to determine the optimal design of bulk handling systems based on client requirements and material to be moved. The engineer will examine both yard efficiencies as well as yard inefficiencies and analyze designs for efficiency of construction, use of materials, functionality and practicality of design.
The Bulk Material Handling Engineer will also work with various manufacturers to ensure that the equipment supplied meets specifications.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a PE license highly desired. Candidates must possess at least 8 years of relevant experience. Experience should include yard and conveyor system layout and design experience for handling bulk material such as: coal, ore, fertilizer, wood pellets, etc. Candidates should have experience sizing and selecting bulk material handling systems and experience in preparation of bulk material handling and heavy plant equipment arrangement drawings
Candidates who can exhibit leadership potential are preferred.
