You'll have to cover the slab with waterproof sheeting & allow for ventilation & run off.

After that you can consider paddle floating while adding a waterproofing agent to the skim coat.

If the rain is heavy it will eventually erode the concrete to expose the rebar whatever you do. Surface finish & additives do help but the fact remains that concrete suffers badly from weathering. Its a composite: so if the weather is hot the rebar expands & flakes off the cover; if its cold the frost cracks the rebar off. But we Perthevere in Western Australia; like everywhere elthe.

Thank you for your detailed reply. this is prevention before rain start but incase i just finished casting of RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete Slab) and heavy rain will fall on it then what can can be done? If i will not cover it then it will wash out? or i can do something after rain will stop to save it?

Thank you again.

While you are casting RCC, if you notice the sky is overcast with a certain downpour, cast a layer of min 10 mm "Fast Curing Cement" mixed with sand AND lime. There are many propreitory fast curing cements available in the market, premixed with epoxy or other resins. Brush a coat of castor oil all round over it. Remember this is only a desperate measure to rescue the RCC as much as possible.
