I am soliciting any suggestions for a low tech method of filling sand bags with wood shavings and saw dust.I am trying to move beyond the lowest tech shovel and am new to bulk packaging. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dear Graham,

I heard that somebody did used a garbage compactor to make a bale of saw dust.

They introduce one piece of plywood ( 1/16" thick)

on each side.Bales were about 48" long X 36" wide X 36" high. They have a 3 steel wires around each bale to hold it tight.

Feeding was done throught a cyclone, and feeded throught the compactor.

Please beware of possible fire or explosion that may happen with saw dust.

I hope that can help you in your project.

But this not a bag system.

Regards,
