Conveyor vibration standards

Hi,

Can anyone advise whether there is a specific standard related to vibration limits for belt conveyor system (drives, gearboxes, etc.) or is the general practice to use something like ISO 10816-3:2009 as applicable to rotating equipment?

Thanks.

Hello Jac.,

as to a standard specifically designated to belt conveyor systems: to my knowledge No.

As to other aspects: Yes:

More general, for rotating mechanical equipment: the relevant quality of balancing is established in ISO 1940.

The standard you quote is related to measurements at nonrotating equipment.

Then there's several standards as to the acceptable levels of vibration where manpower / personnel is subject to such during their working time.

And finally, by the dynamical analysis of bulk handling equipment during design, relevant excitation / re resonance is established and in case of relevance included into the design.
