Re: Compressor For Silo Applications

Hello Armada,

To get started I need a little more information about the air flow you want to achieve. Can you tell me a little more about that? What truck is is going own and where is the desired mounting location? What is the country of installation? We do customized truck and also trailer mounted compressors that can be PTO driven or be equipped with their own Diesel engines (that it more for trailer mounted units). Otherwise, like Mantoo noted, Ingersoll Rand-GHH has a comprehensive truck PTO driven and mounted compressor program that is geared toward standard truck mounting between the axles or even between the frame rails for flows between 500 and 1000m3/h.

Have a great day,

Ralf

Dear Ralf,

Thank you for your reply. I will be using these on the bulk cement carriers. I wish to install them on the truck body as PTO driven to save from the weight, rather than the trailer part. I am in Istanbul.

Dear Ralf,

I have checked with your Turkish counterpart in Istanbul and they have told me that your company do not manufacture compressors for such operation.

Hello Armada,

Thanks for your reply. Like I mentioned before there is no standard offering of PTO driven truck compressors ex works Aerzen Germany, all other products are country specific offerings. We have and will continue offering such machines and I will drop you a mail as to how we may be able to assist you from the US through Aerzen Turkey. Is this for a qty of one compressor? Also, did you figure out the flow range you wanted? I need that to verify suitability and power consumption.

Ralf

Correct me if I am wrong as far as I can recall Aerzen do 2 bar oil free screw compressors for fixed installations but don’t do truck mounted units.

Dear Mantoo,

On the link, you can notice that Aerzen has oil free screw compressors up to 3 bar.

In addirion, compressors for semi trailers, as required in this post, are normally limited to 2 bar.

Good day

I still cant see any truck mounted units on the webpage. They do offer compressors for stationary unloading of silos. Whcih according to my interpetation means fixed on the ground not on the truck chesis as required by the original post.

Good day to you also

Mantoo

Dear Mantoo,

The Aerzen oil free screw compressors are widely used all over the world in the pneumatic conveying of all kinds of materials, amongst which cement.

Not only in fixed land installations, but also in all types of shipunloaders amongst which mobile cement unloaders, where the compressors are diesel driven.

In my active lifetime, I have installed, operated, tested, repaired and heard at least 200 of them.

In such installations, it not necessary to install a completely regulated compressor set.

The bare compressor is sufficient, with a safety valve and a return sieve.

As far as I know the oil free screw compressor type VML18R is used on cement truck tank trailers.

All for now

Dear Manttoo,

Thank you for the reply, the Rand is exactly what I was looking for. I also made a search for VML18R at the Aerzen at their site search engine as Teus suggested but no result came. Wish you all a good weekend.

Hello there,

The 18R has indeed been used for truck and trailer unloading apps. I am currently on a business trip in Europe and have limited access to the web. Not too long ago I looked at installing one for truck mount and pto shaft drive. I will be back at the office on Monday and could look at this application then. Would that work for you?
