Second World Conference on Sampling and Blending

9-12 May 2005, Twin Waters, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia

First Announcement

The First World Conference on Sampling and Blending (WCSB1) was held in Esbjerg, Denmark, in August 2003. The Conference was held in honour of Dr Pierre Gy and was extremely successful. It was agreed that we would hold the second Conference in Australia in 2005 and I was elected Conference Chairman. I am now pleased to announce that WCSB2 will be held on 9-12 May 2005 and will be jointly hosted by CSIRO and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM). The venue will be the beautiful Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast just north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. As for WCSB1, the conference will cover sampling and blending in all disciplines, including the mining, agriculture and medical industries.

You are cordially invited to attend WCSB2, which will be the second world conference devoted exclusively to sampling and blending. Twin Waters is a great location for a conference, surrounded by tropical vegetation with lots of facilities for guests to use, including a lagoon and a surf beach (a few minutes walk from the resort). The venue can be accessed by road from Brisbane (about a 90 min drive) or alternatively by air to the Sunshine Coast airport (a few minutes drive from the resort).

Further details will be provided shortly.
