Re: Cad Drawing Blocks
A lot of suppliers can supply CAD drawings of their machines, but tend to guard them jealously and not issue them widely.
Regarding symbols for flow drawings, you could do these yourself and donate them. ■
Donations
I will donate flow blocks and every drawing block I have the time to make.
Of all the designers in bulk-online, isn't there anyone willing to give away his drawing blocks for CAD applications? ■
Re: Cad Drawing Blocks
What format would you use?
Is it 2D or 3D you're thinking about? ■
Re: Cad Drawing Blocks
It would be nice to have both.
I have some 2D symbols for layouts and flow diagrams. And I have experimented with 3D drawing blocks but I am not satisfied with my results.
Another advantage of sharing drawing blocks here is that we could start standardizing the graphical representation of our equipments.
Currently, every country and even every designer has its own system.
My usual representation for a grain screener (dockage remover) is just a box titled PL (pre limpieza). I have seen drafts where they represent it sideways, even in layouts. How do you draw it?
Wouldn't it be nice to draw and read drawings easily no matter where the other person lives? ■
He Who Models Sells
Who have you asked????
I have never encountered any hesitation from manufacturers when asked for .dwg's of their product. Convenience for customer design staff & the accompanying design cost saving is often the governing factor in a sale. If you can plonk the block straight into your GA then obviously that is the bit of kit, like for like, that gets approved supplier status. That's the way it is, & should be.
Incidentally there is a BS somewhere which shows process equipment symbols for most of the gear that we use, so there is a measure of standardisation already. ■

Drawings For Conveyors
One of my problems is that I haven't got enough time to make the needed detailed drawings. I guess I will just pay some Architecture student to make the drawing blocks for me.
Those symbols 'designer' posted are mostly for liquid processes equipment.
What about tower dryers, screw conveyors and bucket elevators? ■

CAD Drawing Blocks
Have you got CAD drawing blocks of bulk material handling equipment?
I am looking for things like silos, bucket elevator heads and boots, auger sweepers, gate valves, feeders, screeners, etc.
It would be nice if some equipment manufacturers among the ones who are around here, make a collection of drawing blocks related to their available models.
Symbols for flow diagrams would be nice too.
Maybe we could have an open collection right here in this site. ■
