Air Control Science®, Inc. Receives Safety Award

From the US Army Corps of Engineers

Award Related to Coal Handling Upgrade Project

BOULDER, Colo., January 24, 2005 – Air Control Science, Inc., (ACS) a leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm specializing in dust and fume control in coal-fired power and primary metal industries, won an award from the US Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District for its work on the coal dust mitigation contract at the Eielson Air Force Base power plant near Fairbanks, Alaska. The “Celebrate Safety” award was announced by James R. Hannon, Jr., P.E., chief of the Construction/Operations Division.

ACS was nominated for the award by Tom White, project engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers at Eielson Air Force Base. From June to October 2004, ACS worked closely with the Corps of Engineers to provide solutions for coal dust mitigation and upgrade coal handling systems at Eielson Air Force Base’s Central Heat and Power Plant.

The Celebrate Safety awards are bestowed in various districts on a quarterly basis to recognize companies that demonstrate a safe work place for craftsmen, contractors and government personnel with attention and effort. Vendors are selected for the award based on achieving no lost time accidents and good safety practices during their construction effort.
