Can anyone assist with a table of typical rope sizes/capacities used on bulk carriers? Or a source that would verify such information? The British Standard (BS6349 Pt4) has some tables for smaller vessels up to 120,000 dwt but nothing for the size we are studying which is 200,000 dwt. We can determine the mooring forces but need to check existing bollard capacity against line capacity to prepare a risk assessment for overload cases (what will break first!!)
