TECHINT TECHNOLOGIES RECEIVES ANOTHER ORDER FROM CVRD FOR SAO LUIS IRON ORE TERMINAL EXPANSION.

Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) the world’s leading iron ore miner, has selected once more Techint for the Expansion of its Sao Luis iron ore shipping Terminal in Brazil.

Techint, in fact, has been awarded a new order relevant to a new Conveyor line (the so called 3rd Shipment Line) and a new Shiploader (CN05) of 10,000 tph design capacity: the fifth shiploader ordered by CVRD to Techint Technologies for the Carajas Terminal.

The Shiploader, designed as a “travel type” loading equipment and able to load out material into ships up to 200,000 DWT (Capesize vessels), will be substantially identical to the two shiploaders, already operating with full satisfaction of the customer, on the CVRD Pier III.

Techint will be responsible of the design, supply and erection on a turnkey basis of the complete system and Confab, also part of Techint Group of Companies, will fabricate the Shiploader steel structures.

The new Conveyor system will mainly consist of a new shipping line designed to deliver 16,000 tph of iron ore and able to simultaneously feed two Shiploaders at the rate of 8,000 tph each. The system will thence ensure maximum load out flexibility depending on the operation requirements.

Techint is proud to have, once more, successfully met CVRD specific needs.
