Atlas Copco has introduced a new blower unit for continuous applications requiring a steady flow of uncontaminated oil-free low-pressure air: the ZB HSD - a High Speed Drive oil-free centrifugal blower. Offering minimum operating costs and the lowest noise levels in the industry, the highly-efficient Atlas Copco ZB HSD is ideal for industrial applications requiring high-quality, low pressure oil-free air.
The ZB HSD is an integrated, single-stage machine capable of delivering
1900-3800 m3/hr or oil-free air at operating pressures of 0.5-1.7 bar(g). It is ideal for water treatment, bulk handling, mixing, aeration, air separation, fermentation, cooling and drying processes.
It is the first Atlas Copco blower to incorporate a High Speed Drive (HSD) system. Developed from the proven Variable Speed Drive (VSD), HSD uses an integrated frequency converter to continuously vary the speed of the direct drive motor to match air output with demand. This eliminates the need for switching between load and no load operation. The result is constant pressure and greater stability in the end process.
The system also cuts energy consumption significantly. Over a typical life cycle, the ZB HSD will pay for itself in energy savings alone. The ZB HSD is a complete, integrated package. Connect the 50Hz power supply and the unit is ready to run.
Because the ZB HSD was designed as a total concept, the blower has no speed windows, is vibration free and fully compliant with EMC directives (Electro Magnetic Compatible ).
Standard features on the ready-to-use package include the proven Elektronikon® control and monitoring system, an air inlet system, blow-off valve with silencer and a canopy, which reduces noise levels to 67 dB(A).
Maintenance requirements for the ZB HSD are minimal. By absence of a gearbox, this single-stage machine is totally oil-free, which excludes traditional oil-pump losses and oil-induced environmental issues.
Offering a stable output and low energy consumption in an efficient all-in-one package, the ZB HSD sets a new standard in the very specific and demanding low-pressure market.
