When the hopper is pressurized, weighing of the hopper which will increase. Allot of people wondering why would this happen since I already put flexible pipe at top and bottom of the hopper to isolate the hopper...

It was shown that weighing hopper batching equipment with anti adhesive lining plates not only increases the batching accuracy and output of the equipment but also increases its trouble.

Since the valves under the screw conveyors are after the flexible the pressure change in

the vessel exert force on them and the flexible expands putting load on the load cells. Typical

case of poor design. Actually change in weight can be easily related to pressure using P= F/A

equation.

Fixing it is not difficult cheap fix is to move the valve from below the

screw conveyors to the top of the vessel i.e. before the flexible, this will resolve the change

in weight problem with pressure problem. But if any material drops from the screw conveyor

it will show as weight in the hopper.

Best solution for best weighing accuracy will need to have valves before and after the flexiable

to have total isolation. The flexible will also then need a tiny vent valve to avoid pressurisation

from leaking valves.
