It is cheaper and quicker to buy the strain gauges and fix them as necessary.

Load cells still require an amplifier and data logger just like the bare strain gauge bridge does.

Besides homemade is more fun to build than trying to make a load cell fit in the space. ■

Without knowing the application, how can one recommend strain gauge type load-cell?
