Re: Sulfur Prill Truck Unloading
The material data that you have provided suggests NO. Before you consider alternative conveying equipment please consider the flammability of the product and the cleaning implications. ■

Sulphur Prills
Mr. Gately is right in his concerns with your sulphur. You will also need to earth ground anything and everything the sulphur may be in contact with because of the heat and friction and static electricity generated by it-the sulphur prills. ■
Alternative Conveying System
If you find a belt conveyor not to be suitable, please take a look at our Aero Mechanical Conveyors, which can easilly cope with any incline angles. for further information please take a look at www.entecon.co.uk. ■
Sulfur Prill Truck Unloading
Can someone tell me or recommend a book in which I can find if it is possible to convey sulfur prill at a 20 degree angle.Below you can find material and situation data.
Material Characteristics
Product:Sulfur Prill
Bulk density:Loose1.15 t/m3
Packed 1.32 t/m3
Stockpile (assumed)1.121 t/m3 & 1.36 t/m3
Angle of repose:28 degrees
Surcharge angle:10 degrees
Maximum loaded conveyor angle:12 degrees
Sulfur Moisture Content:- from granulators <0.5% by weight
Sulfur Moisture Content:- from stockpile reclaim <1.0% by weight
Size distribution:Nominally between 2 mm and 4 mm diameter with 75% within 1 mm of average diameter; Specifically not more than 5% retained on a #4 screen (4.75 mm), less than 2% passing a #16 screen, less than 0.1% passing a #50 screen
Maximum product temperature80°C (from Granulator discharge).
This material will pour from a belly truck into a hopper and will be conveyed with a aprox. 6 m trough conveyor(smooth belt) at a 20 degree angle.
I don't understand how this thing is possible (or if is possible) if the surcharge angle is max 12 degrees.
Can this be done with a belt with cleats?
Thank you in advance. ■
