The attached brochure depicts a system with some merit but it is not an optical device

Just recalled this one from a while ago.
As X ray's are a form of EMR this could be considered optical (?):

Optical Belt Rip Detector
I am very familiar with the various methods of belt rip detection and manufacturers, but am bidding to a specification which requires an optical conveyor belt rip detector directly after the load point. Not my choice of detectors, but customer is insistant. I have done a search but unable to find any one that manufacturers an optical unit. Any assistance would be appreciated ■
