Stockpile Question

Posted on 15. Apr. 2005 - 08:47

The fastest and simplest way to move your material is to use a multiple vacuum system and a cylone at the other end to slow the material down and deliver it away from the stock pile-with minimum of supervision and danger to employees.

The advantages are many as you will not be required to install a conveyor system and the suction hoses can be tailored for the length and width of the stock pile.

You also have the advantage of utilizing the blower in blower mode as well if need be to shovel

material in to a downstream hopper for discharge at the other end.

The nice thing about the vacuum set up is that you can put all the hoses on a trailer and move the trailer where ever you need to vacuum up the salt and deliver it away from the stock pile with little effort and little if any danger to the employees by laying the suction pipe by the stock pile and using a small loader to feed the vacuum system intake pipe- you should also be able to use a hopper with a small grizzly in it to eliminate plugging of the hopper as well.

Friendly advice from a former underground salt miner who wants to keep things simple.
