Dear Sir,
We have experience pulverizing Sulfur, and we manufacture milling systems to accomplish this. Sulfur powder is explosive. Milling it requires considerable safety precautions.
The average cost/unit for the finished powder is dependent upon the system size, which is relative to the production capacity desired (rate) and the desired final particle size. ■
Sulphur Grinding
Dear Sir,
We have delivered our NEA Pendulum Roller Mill with Radial Classifier, but this is also possible with our High Impact mill.
During the grinding you can work with inert gas like Nitrogen to prevent explosion.
Several parameters need to be measured during the process.
The product is fed via a hopper to a dosing valve and with pneumatic feeding going to the mill (eventualy a cyclone) and filter.
The price is depending of the expected troughput and fineness.
Best Regards,
Jackie Meul

Re: Sulfur Pulverizing
Some important information’s are missing.
The start size, the quantity and the desired final size is important to propose a optimum machine.
If only big lumps need to be broken to mm size, a jaw crusher like the PULVERISETTE 1 might be suitable.
For smaller amounts, a planetary ball mill will be able to grind into µm range. By grinding in suspension, a grinding down to d50 < 5µm was done with our Planetary Mono Mill PULVERISETTE 6.
A test with our Planetary Micro Mill PULVERISETTE 7 premium line for grinding into nano range (up to ~20g) was not tested so far.

The Fritsch Team
