Hello, I ' am Senthil Murugan

I' am looking for some clarification, article about storage of De oiled Rice Bran ( DORB) in 200 Cubic vertical silo.

The material DORB is a byproduct of Solvent Extraction of Rice Bran used for Livestock Feed Production.

The Physical property - density =0.4 to 0.5, less than 1% of Hexane(residual solvent ),powdery material.

I need to clarify that whether we could store this type of material in vertical silo , if yes, what type of silo we should use.

Thanks in advance.

We, in one of our feed plant projects, are looking for storage of deoiled rice bran in silos. I believe hopper bottom silos would be preferable for the particular application though I have not come across, at least in India, anybody using silos for storage of DORB. Please respond if anybody has experience of storage of DORB in silos.

We can manufacture various kinds of steel silos in the form of plate-bottom or conical-bottom (both are available to the customers' demanding and drawings), the silo's diameter ranges from1.8 to 32 meters and the capacities are from 5 to 12000 tons per storage bin .Meanwhile, we can also produce handle equipments, such as bucket elevators, drag conveyors, belt conveyors and so on. BODA steel silo series are widely used in various industrial lines such as grain, oil, feed, seed, brewage, cement, chemistry and so on, which is the very equipment for storage of granulators and powder materials.

As you know this type of material has a tendency to 'knit' together which causes the material to hang up on the silo walls (ratholing) and bridge over the silo outlet.

With our range of Acoustic Cleaners, we have been solving material flow problems within a wide range of industries in over 40 countries worldwide, including your material.

Acoustic Cleaners (or Sonic Horns as they are sometimes called) use sound waves at selected frequencies to debond such material thus preventing material build up from occuring and aiding mass flow.

If you are totally new to Acoustic Cleaners/Sonics Horns, perhaps you could take a look at 'An Irishman's Guide to Acoustic Cleaning' at the following link-
