George
Rosta mounts are more rigid in horizontal direction that steel spring and they detune the screen - on small screens I have seen frequency shift of more than a 150 rpm (2.5 Hz). Possibly that was the case here and the screen was working in resonance and transferring the vibration in to the frame. I agree that removing rosta is the most effective action.

ROSTA misapplication 2
Had a customer ask my opinion on this Dillon screen with ROSTAS added.
Problem: his support structure was vibrating wildly erratic after ROSTA mounts were installed unfortunately.
Rosta mounts were installed on the top of the suspension frame of a DILLON rod hung screen. The 2 coil springs ontop of each corner ontop of the suspension frame were replaced with ROSTAS.
This setup a separate vibration to that which the screen suspension frame was designed and caused EXTRA VIBRATION vs calming vibration.
....................
The reason is: the Dillon circle throw suspension hung vibrating screen design is already a quiet shutdown and quiet operating design due to the SUSPENSION ROD SYSTEM.......and the fact the machine SHAFT has a double eccentric offset .......WHICH makes it shutdown SMOOTH SMOOTH quiet just like a big ole Tyler TYROCK design. This machine does NOT shutdown violently like a two bearing concentric SINGLE OFFSET shaft design.
ACTION: Recommended customer remove ROSTAS....really no reason to spend the extra bucks to install them in this particular setup at all. ■
