hi

need your input on the correct and more representative way of taking cement sample from airslide?

we have screw type sampling we installed at the chute from airslide to another airslide and another one at the chute from airslide to bucket inlet, but it seems this sample is more to spot sample and the result is not really representative and giving high error, we suspect cause by suction of filter and the location of sampling screw at transfer chute.

any idea how to improve it? -at the moment the avaible space that we have is trasfer chute from airslide to airslide or airslide to bucket inlet.

The basic requirement is to take a section of the whole flow stream, so the sampling device must take account of the flow stream cross section and flow rate in relation to the size of sample required. If the flow can be presented as a 'waterfall of even depth off the end of a flat chute, a long and narrow, deep collecting box with thin side walls can be swung quickly across the flow stream. Perhaps the screw could be used at the base of the box to extract the whole sample that is taken.
