I agree with my fellow, all depend how the selection and calculation for life time unther your specific conditions. In comparative both brands shall be same quality.

I concur with designer; get the bearings from a factory rep only. There are a ton of fakes around.

As to preferring one manufacturer over another you need to really know what the bearing description and type is in the first place. Do not get fooled by bearings that carry the same model number as they can still have different rolling element quantities and -in case of tapered or angular contact bearings - a different contact angle. If you are lucky and this is the first overhaul keep the original bearing and get the same bearing model number and manufacturer. Prefix and suffix must be the same and do not forget to check the inner races of especially cylinder roller bearings for the correct "C" clearance code. Finally look at the bearing cage and get the same material again if possible. ■

we were unable to get FAG bearings from FAG directly

so we tried to procure some from hong kong as the supplier said they were FAG dealers

we imported a bearing each from 2 sources and both turned out to be fake bearings

so be careful when you buy bearings is best to get them direct from the manufacturer ■

I have been ussing SKF,FAG and NTN bearings in conveyor system, since many years with equal satisfaction.Generally people have a preference towards SKF.
