An in line check valve must be installed after the pressure discharge line of the compressor-preferably at the inlet of the tank.
Just make sure the arrow of the check valve is pointing towards the tank other wise no air will enter it-the tank and an explosion will occur if you do not have a blow off valve in the pressure line or tank. ■
